My Suicide Dream is an innovative Digicore band from the suburbs of Philadelphia. Creating their own blend of deathcore and industrial, which they have dubbed "Digital Deathcore" or simply "Digicore", MSD has truly started something new. Created by lead singer/songwriter Brandon Sosnowski in 2006, MSD is greatly influenced by the genres of harsh EBM, industrial, metalcore/deathcore, grindcore, blackmetal, glitch, and techno. All of which they try to incorporate in their own unique sound.
On July 3rd 2007, My Suicide Dream signed with newly created Syndustry Records and in December of that year released their debut album "The Verge of Suicide". Unfortunatly, over the following two years the band would lose two of its original members and by the spring of 2009 Syndustry Records was no more. Determined not to give up in the face of adversity, MSD developed a plan to record new music with a style not yet tried before. Their upcoming CD, “Drown Out E.P.”, due to release on or before October 31 2010, will be the rebirth of a crazy ass band the likes of which you have never seen.
My Suicide Dream is comprised of 2 members:

Brandon Sosnowski: Lead Vocals/Songwriter

Ashley aka "Sugar" McDermott: Live Synths/Samples
Brandon began his obsession with music with the creation of a Dark Techno project called "Cimmerian Void" while playing bass for a metal band called "SixCycle" when he was about 15. After both music projects failed he was asked to sing for a black/death metal band called "Christicide". It was within this band he found the ability to sing in such a harsh, often high pitched manner. After Christicides first live performance many people approached him with questions regarding how he managed to make his voice sound so harsh. They could not believe it wasn't processed. But like all teenaged garage bands, Christicide was doomed to fail and break up. After several side projects Brandon formed a hardcore/screamo band with longtime friend and guitarist Tony (last name omitted for privacy) called "5 Point". This band showed much promise with several local shows at Sacred Grounds, The Conduit, that went very well. A local buzz started to grow, but problems with the drummer resulted in yet another break up. Determined not to give up Brandon and guitarist Tony started another project hoping to continue the 5 Point buzz called "AOK". But by this time Brandon was in college and did not have time to dedicate to a full time band so he dropped out. After being properly introduced to the industrial/club by Sugar, Brandon fell in love with the sounds of industrial/harsh ebm/electro music. He decided he would not let his love of creating music die. Thus My Suicide Dream was formed on January 15 2006.
Sugar grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She was strongly influenced by her brothers love for music. As a young child, she watched and was slightly involved in their musical projects. She grew up listening to Nirvana and the Doors on a daily basis. She appreciated this music and the fact that it was edgey. However, as she grew older she found herself drawn to the dance beats of the early 90's. She found something magnetic about it and frequently made trips to the roller skating rinks. She was addicted to the feeling of music combined with energy. By her early teens Sugar embraced such bands as Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and The Smashing Pumpkins. These were the bands that she held the highest. It didn't bother her and never bothered her if others disagreed with her music choices. At the age of fourteen, Sugar was going to local goth clubs in Philadelphia with her friends. However, the first time Sugar ever truly fell in love with the industrial scene was at the age of fifteen when was at a party after one of her club nights. The exact moment could have very possibly been when the parties host played the song "Assimilate" by Skinny Puppy. Something clicked in her- and she really began to feel the music even more. She realized that as she danced at the club that she felt that same rush of combined energy and music. The harsh vocals and beats beat through her soul and she was never able to look at any other type of music in the same way again. Dancing became one of her favorite things to do. Fashion and makeup were always top of priorities of Sugars as well. Sugar is a dictator in her own right, as she truly was solely responsible for introducing Brandon to industrial music.
